Academic Junior High Decathlon

This annual competition is held in early Spring and is open to schools with students in grades 6th – 8th in the Los Angeles Archdiocese. Students are invited to apply each year to join a team of ten (10) students and alternates.  The teams are selected based on their STAR scores, report cards and teacher recommendations. The decathletes compete in the following subject areas: Religion, Mathematics, Logic, Literature, English, Science, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Current Events The teams also compete in two areas: LOGIC and Super Quiz. Coaching and preparation take place before/during/after school hours starting in September at least once a week through the competition date. The moderator is Ms. Boyle supported by parents and teachers as coaches.
