Athletics Program

All children in 3rd – 8th grades are encouraged to support and play in the after school sports program. The after school sports program of events, including hiring coaches and referees are coordinated by the school’s Athletics Director. A fee is charged per child per sport per season. The “After School Athletics Handbook” is made available to all athletes and their families each year, which outlines specific policies and guidelines. The program operates under the guidance and support of the Catholic Youth Organization - CYO.
All coaches must be trained and certified by the CYO, be fingerprinted and have completed all necessary VIRTUS training. Please contact  Mr. Pacheco if you are interested in being certified to be a coach.

Each year, with parent support, we offer the following:

Please note all sport teams must have at least one CYO certified coach, enough registered players to field a team, and enough teams in our athletic conference to compete in a regular season. After school athletics would not be possible without the support of parents and coaches. 

Every year, all athletic programs within the Los Angeles Archdiocese are ranked based on how far each team advances through the year/playoffs. Out of over 160+ schools, OLA finished:
               2016/2017 - 3rd overall   (1st East Region)
               2017/2018 - 11th overall  (4th East Region)
