Graduation Keynote

Kevin Kho,
Class of 2006

 

 

Kevin Kho a 2006 OLA graduate, continued his Catholic Education at  Damien High School and the University of Notre Dame. After graduating with Bachelor degree’s in Biochemistry and Theology in 2014, Kevin went on to work with the Salesian Lay Missioners in South Sudan as a teacher at a high school and as Director of Youth Programming. Kevin has returned to his Alma Mater where he is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity. Kevin hopes to continue his work in International Development.  

We wish Kevin the greatest blessings as he prepares for marriage this summer.  With the most tremendous pride, we wish him success in his unique opportunity as an intern at the Vatican,Rome later this summer working at the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development in the new sector on Ecology and Creation.

Barbara Croonquist,
Class of 1972
 
Barbara (Mocharnuk) Croonquist is a mother of twin boys, a 1972 graduate of Our Lady of the Assumption School, 1976 graduate of St. Lucy’s Priory High School and 1981 graduate of U.C. Davis with a B.S. degree in Range and Wildlands Science. She was employed by the U.S. Forest Service for over 30 years on the Angeles National Forest, most notably as an interpretive specialist responsible for visitor information, education and the establishment of the Mt. Baldy Visitor Center in Mt. Baldy Village and the America’s Great Outdoors exhibit area at the Los Angeles County Fair. Named “Ranger of the Year” by the National Forest Recreation Association in 2007, Barbara’s passion is working with urban populations, especially inner city youth to instill a love of nature and the outdoors.  After transferring to the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management in 2010, she continued her work with diverse urban populations until her retirement in March 2017 and is now looking forward to new opportunities for community volunteerism and travel.
