School Masses

The aim of all education at OLA School is to live and love the life and message of Jesus Christ through developing the understanding, knowledge, and skills of its students.

OLA students live their lives as children of God by their prayers and the Catholic services they do.  In years past, their services have reached children in Haiti, East Timor, Bangladesh, Thailand, Japan, Africa, Tijuana, as well as in our local communities:  City of Hope, Ronald McDonald House, Shoes That Fit program, and many others.

Weekly masses are celebrated by our children.  They actively participate in preparing the prayers, the reflections of the Word of God.  They take part as Liturgical Ministers: lectors, altar servers, and choir.  Once a month, our school children also participate in the Sunday 9:00 AM children’s mass at the OLA parish.

Our other liturgy activities include: Reconciliation Service, retreat, Advent and Lent prayers, and Stations of the Cross.  The 7th graders burn the palms to be used for Ash Wednesday.  They also prepare the unleavened bread for Lent.

In all that we do, we provide opportunities for deeper conversion to live a life as the image of Jesus, the Son of God.  Our Eucharistic celebrations are the source and the summit of all that we do.
